Bathurst Island Housing Association Inc. Committee are seeking a Qualified Builder to take on the role of Manager.
The suitable applicant will require a hands on approach and a working knowledge of all trades involved in completing construction projects. The successful applicant will be required to live and work at Wurrumiyanga on the Tiwi Islands.
A trade qualification awarded by an Australian institution or equivalent
A current NT Builders Licence
Proven experience in a senior management role
Proven financial management skills
Highly developed communication, reporting and problem solving skills
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
A clear understanding of implementing policy and procedures within the workplace with a sound knowledge of current AS/NZS 4801 & WHS Practices
Proven experience in quoting all aspects of construction projects
HR Licence or willingness to obtain prior to commencement
Proven ability to meet targets and ensure quality outcomes which conform with all legal requirements
Current Ochre Card or willingness to obtain
Current Police check or willingness to obtain
Experience working on heavy machinery - operation and maintenance
Previous experience working on a remote indigenous community
Forklift Licence or willingness to obtain
Understanding of requirements involved in tendering for and completing both Private and Government contracts
You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident and capable of obtaining a Police Clearance and NT Ochre Card. A salary will be negotiated directly relating to your qualifications, skills and experience. Furnished housing, electricity, telephone, full use of vehicle, return flights to Darwin each 8 weeks and 6 weeks annual leave including 17.5% leave loading are additional benefits to salary.
