THE COMPANY

Ensham Resources (a joint venture majority owned by Idemitsu Australia Resources) is the operator of a coal mine complex located 40km north east of Emerald in the Bowen Basin, in Central Queensland. Ensham comprises an open cut mine currently operating a dragline and an expanding underground bord and pillar operation. It mines high energy low ash thermal coal and total annual production is approximately 5 million tonnes per year. Ensham is amongst the most productive underground bord and pillar operations in the world. This success has created its own issues. The faster and harder we operate the more we push out plant beyond their duty cycles. This requires us to have a different need/speed. This role is an opportunity for a lessor experienced but very energetic and practical person to position themselves for internal promotion or for an experienced person seeking an environment to apply their skills/knowledge and wisdom that they have not been afforded the opportunity to do at other workplaces.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER - PRODUCTION ROLE

Reporting to the Underground Mechanical Superintendent (MEM) you will be responsible for: •Coordinating Mechanical and Face Equipment activities at the underground operation •Leading a systematic approach to reduce downtime •Ensuring that the systems and procedures achieve Mechanical statutory compliance.

MECHANICAL COORDINATOR – CONVEYORS & OUTBYE ROLE

Reporting to the Underground Mechanical Superintendent (MEM) you will be responsible for: •Coordinating Conveyors and Outbye activities at the underground operation •Leading a systematic approach to reduce downtime •Ensuring that the systems and procedures achieve Mechanical statutory compliance.

MECHANICAL ENGINEER – DIESELS & INFRASTRUCTURE ROLE

Reporting to the Underground Mechanical Superintendent (MEM) you will be responsible for: •Coordinating Diesel and Surface Infrastructure activities at the underground operation •Leading a systematic approach to reduce downtime •Ensuring that the systems and procedures achieve Mechanical statutory compliance.

THE PERSON

To be considered a suitable candidate for these positions you will have the following experience and background: •Trade Certificate or Tertiary qualification in relevant field and/or organisational experience •Minimum 4yrs experience with underground coal mining maintenance supervision and coordination •Experience with development face equipment is a must •Experience in the development and use of SAP is an advantage •High level of computer literacy •Strong leadership and decision-making skills •Experience in planning the cost-effective management of Mechanical assets •A commitment to safe work practices •Knowledge of current Mechanical engineering technologies •Experience in planning the cost-effective management of Mechanical assets

THE ROSTER

The roster for this position is a 5 on 2 off (Monday to Friday) Emerald based arrangement.
