A non-government organisation in Cairns is seeking a CASE MANAGER to provide support for children/young people with challenging behaviours.

The Case Manager will be required to undertake tasks including: Assessment of Need; Care Planning; Implementation of Care Plans; Support and Monitoring of Placements and must have the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in social science and/or Diploma in welfare or held an equivalent position as a Case Manager for a period of time or have core values/skills that align with the contract and be enrolled in or willing to be enrolled in a minimum of Certificate IV in Youth Work
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the Child Protection Act 1999
  • Ability to provide assistance and service with empathy
  • Skills and ability to develop Care Plans with clients to identify and assess needs, resources and support and evaluate outcomes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, networking and basic computer proficiency
  • Team work experience and an ability to work independently, setting boundaries and prioritising, applying self discipline and effective time management skills
  • Liaison, support and counselling and/or case management skills
  • Effective listening skills
  • Well-developed understanding of access and equity issues
  • Ability to work some evenings to facilitate client delivered services
  • A willingness to travel remotely

The Case Manager must have or be willing to obtain a current Children's Commission Blue Card; current drivers licence and vehicle.
