Potter stage spoof holiday fun
15th December 2009
Adam Elmohamad as Harry, centre, Jack Robson as Ron, and Sharntie Christina as Hermione will bring the Harry Potter spoof to Coast audiences in January.
The spoof was written by US based playwright Jeanette Jaquish.
"We were inundated with enthusiastic children at the auditions held in July, which made casting a very tough job," producer John Bailey said.
Doonan resident Adam Elmohamad landed the sought after role of Harry and has been busy fitting rehearsals around his classes at Noosa District High School.
Immanuel Lutheran College student, Jack Robson, will play Ron Weasley, Mapleton resident Sharntie Christina will play Hermione, and Nils Terton Draco Malfoy.
The spoof has Harry once again locked in his room where Dobby and an inebriated Winky come to him with a warning to save not his life but at least his career.
At Hogwarts things are weirder than ever – Snape is furious at Ron's spilled potion, Hagrid doesn't think Harry's hearing voices thing is funny and Dumbledore has lost his meal ticket.
Harry Potter and the Obnoxious Voice will be performed at The Events Centre on Friday, January 15 at 11am and 1pm, and Saturday, January 16 at 1pm.
Tickets can be bought by calling 5491 4240 or visiting etixdirect.com.au. Tickets are $10 if purchased by the end of 2009, and $12 from January 1.
