Neighbours raise alarm as cars burn in shed fire
Louise O'Keefe 4th July 2009
Two vehicles were destroyed when a shed was gutted in a fire near Allora on Thursday night.
THE charred remains of two motor vehicles were all that was left after a fire gutted a shed near Allora on Thursday night.
The alarm sounded at 9.30pm by neighbours who contacted Emergency Services after smoke was seen at 88 Pinnacle Road, Forest Springs, 16 kilometres north-east of Allora.
Fire crews from Allora and Clifton were joined by a rural fire crew at the scene.
The firefighters managed to contain the blaze and had the fire out by about 11.30pm.
However, there was nothing they could do for the shed and it was completely destroyed.
Police said the occupants were not home at the time of the fire.
A utility and an old sedan were destroyed in the shed.
The family home was saved as it was several metres from the shed and was not under threat at anytime.
Right next to the shed were several bird aviaries which were not damaged.
An Allora police spokesperson said the fire was not being treated as suspicious.
A Queensland Fire and Rescue Service investigator went to the scene yesterday.
From initial investigations, the fire appears to have been caused by an electrical fault.
