Transplant recipient Jasmine Storey-Robinson, with the help of Donut King, is raising funds to go to the World Transplant games where she will represent Australia in swimming.

AT just 12, Jasmine Storey-Robinson has faced more challenges than those twice her age, but she is gearing up to face another at the World Transplant Games in August.

The pint-sized swimmer competed in the games last year and brought home a swag of three gold, a silver and a bronze, but is unsure of her chances of a repeat performance.

“I'm hoping to but I'm not sure I will because I'll be competing in the 12 to 17 age group for the first time this year,” Jasmine said.

Jasmine is currently raising funds to attend the games and Donut King Hinkler Central and Sugarland Shoppingtown owners Joanne and Michael Gee are donating part-profits from the sale of a green and gold donut.

“We thought donuts because it is an “O” for organ donor and the green and gold for Australia, which I'm representing,” Jasmine said.

Jasmine's mother Leah Robinson said as part of their fundraising for Jasmine's games dream, they hoped to help raise organ awareness.

“Part of the fundraising is to help raise awareness of organ donation so that other kids don't have to wait as long as Jasmine did,” Mrs Robinson said.

About 10 years ago Jasmine had to wait 15 months before she received a liver transplant.

“Jasmine wants to help other kids so the same doesn't happen to them,” Mrs Robinson said.

Donut King owner Joanne Gee said the donuts will be on sale from Saturday at $1.70 each or $6.20 for a six-pack, with 50 cents from the single donuts and $2.20 from the six-packs going toward Jasmine's quest.

“The donut is a round cake with pineapple icing and green sprinkles,” Mrs Gee said.
