THE receiver of ABC Learning says it has a plan to secure a childcare place for every child using the company's centres next year.

Receiver Chris Honey, of McGrathNicol, said in a statement the plan to secure the places would be finalised next week.

Mr Honey said he would also detail plans for ABC centre staff jobs next week.

"I am pleased to report that, together with the government, we are working positively towards securing a childcare place for every ABC child next year and clarity about employment for ABC staff," Mr Honey said.

"It is very important this process be conducted carefully, to make sure it is given the chance to provide the best possible outcome.

"It is vital, therefore, that we take a limited amount of extra time to ensure the best outcome for all ABC children, their parents and ABC staff."

The nation's largest childcare provider went into receivership last month after registering debts of more than $1 billion.

The receiver has already announced 656 ABC centres, used by an estimated 80,000 children nationally, would continue to trade as normal after December 31.

But a review is underway into a further 386 centres used by 30,000 children.
