USQ wins award

THE University of Southern Queensland has had a win in the 2008 Queensland Multicultural Awards yesterday.
Communities and Multicultural Affairs Minister Lindy Nelson-Carr congratulated 18 exceptional Queenslanders including individuals and schools at the awards ceremony at Parliament House.
USQ won the Business Category - Large Business as it became the first university in Australia to adopt a formal policy on multiculturalism in 1998.
The university is considered the leader in multiculturalism within the higher education sector through its multicultural initiatives specifically tailored to the needs of the region.
