IT doesn't get any better than this, said Peter Taylor after winning the Best Specialised Retail Award at the 2008 North Coast Region Local Business Awards at Coffs Harbour on Friday.

He couldn't have been more wrong.

A scant 10 minutes later he and wife Rhonda, who own and operate the Clunes General Store, were on their feet again to collect the gold award for Business of the Year.

The Taylors, who bought the business in 2001, are no strangers to hard work: They drove to Coffs and back on Friday night knowing they had to be up at 5am on Saturday to roll newspapers.
