Solar styles charge iPods on the go
- 6th October 2008
FASHION goes hi-tech as Argentinean designers release solar powered clothing that can
charge personal gadgets such as iPods, mobile phones, digital cameras and even lap tops.
A solar panel built into the new age designs means power charging can be done on the go; doing away with carrying batteries and looking for outlets.
Designer Julieta Gayoso says the line of clothing enables mobile energy that is clean. Charging batteries can be as easy as getting some sun.
Her line of clothing for the design firm Indarra DTX includes pants and jackets with built in controls for iPods and MP3 players. Turning up the volume or skipping songs can be done by pressing buttons on panels sewn into sleeves or pockets.
