YOU'D think Byron would have had enough of the festival scene after hosting Blues and Roots plus Splendour in the Grass; but no.
The good people of this Northern Rivers beachside community have decided to hold the Evolve Festival which "celebrates the dawning of a new species of events...with every shape and form of the arts imaginable on colourful display." In other words – it's an eclectic collection of performances and static displays that will tantalise all the senses.
Enjoy the atmosphere and wander through the massive art displays; pick up some crafty bargains at the on-site markets or take your time over fabulous local food.
Children will enjoy hanging out at the Byron Bay KidzKlub where they can do everything from creating sculptures to painting to beading. They can let their imaginations run wild in the dress-up and dramatic play area or test their hand-eye coordination skills by learning how to juggle.The bigger kids will love entertainment by Tex Perkins, James Cruickshank, Tripod, the Byron Ballet Company and the Space Cowboy to name a few of the acts on show.
With five massive arenas including three big tops set up at Red Devil Park, Evolve is a family-friendly event showcasing everything from music to art; movies to madcap mayhem and loads of circus acts in-between.
This is definitely worth a look, so set aside some time to visit Evolve at Red Devil Park, Byron Bay on Saturday October 4 from noon to midnight.
