Carnival of Flowers to end with longest lunch

The Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers is in full swing with a range of events bringing locals and visitors out to enjoy the city's spectacular floral dispalys. Patrons will be served a three-course lunch at Laurel Bank Park this Sunday on tables arranged along the spectacular garden beds. The menu will showcase mouth-watering spring fare with ingredients sourced from top-quality regional produce. The lunch begins at noon and tickets are $57 each and include a drink on arrival, the three-course lunch and entertainment. For bookings please phone 4688 6966. Floral displays have filled the church and there are lunchtime concerts each day. The event also includes an exhibition by the Spinners and Weavers, a plant stall plus lots of lunch-time sandwiches, cold drinks, tea and coffee and jams and chutneys, all for a good price. Art enthusiasts can enjoy pottery exhibitions, photographic displays, public artworks in parks and gardens throughout the city, craft shows, quilting and fine art exhibitions just to name a few. The weather was glorious on the weekend as crowds gathered for the biggest day of Toowoomba's annual Carnival of Flowers on Saturday. The Grand Central Floral Parade kicked off a program of events that will continue until Sunday, September 28.

Longest Lunch
The Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers will finish with a stylish and tantalising event, The Longest Lunch in Laurel.
Flower lovers have until Thursday to visit St Luke's Anglican Church Flower and Choral Festival on the corner of Herries and Ruthven streets.
An extensive program of carnival events is on this week with community groups and local organisations hosting a wide variety of activities.
