THERE have been quite a few cod on the move this week in both the western rivers and dams with the biggest weighing 44lb. The next full moon appears on Sunday night so the weekend should be good for cod.

LESLIE DAM: Local Oakey angler Chad Hinds landed a nice 40lb cod at Leslie Dam last Sunday using live worms for bait on only 6lb breaking strain line. There has also been a few yellowbelly taken on live shrimp and worms.

GOONDIWINDI: A few reasonable cod have been landed at Goondiwindi with local angler George Martin landing and 18 and 10lb cod in the town reaches on live worms. The yellowbelly have been hard work this week.

COOBY DAM: A few yellowbelly have been on the move at Cooby along with the odd small cod taken mainly on live bait, but it is still hard work there at present.

PHOTO COMPETITION: Just a reminder to get your photo into Mullet Gut Marine to be in the draw for a Shimano rod and reel valued at $70.

WIVENHOE DAM: A few good quality bass have been taken at Wivenhoe this week, mainly trolling the deep-diving Oar-Gee. Casting Jackall lures around the drop offs has also met with some success.

TEXAS: A few yellowbelly have been taken downstream on bait but the cod have been a little quiet. The full moon this weekend may get them moving.

CRESSBROOK DAM: The better bass have been taken in the deeper water this week with a couple of local anglers landing a few trolling the deeper water out from the boat ramp. A few have also been taken suspending Rip 'n' Minnows around the weed banks.

GLENLYON DAM: The fishing at Glenlyon has been hard work but with the full moon this weekend it may be a good time to try for cod.

SOMERSET DAM: There is a round of the Bass In Queensland competition being held at Somerset and the best fishing this week has been working the edges with soft plastics and spinnerbaits.

FRASER ISLAND: The tailor season on Fraser Island is getting underway with some good reports coming from the Cathedrals area of plenty of tailor up and down the beaches where the deeper gutters have formed. It looks like being a top tailor season on Fraser.

NOOSA: Plenty of tailor have been taken along the beach at North Shore up to Teewah. The reefs are also fishing well for snapper and squire. The Noosa River is fishing well for luderick off the rock walls at the mouth, tailor and trevally just inside the mouth and bream around the Woods Bay.

SOUTHPORT: Some reasonable tailor have been taken at Mermaid Beach and Burleigh. The Spit, Seaway and Pin Bar have also produced some quality bream mixed in with tailor. Some good bream have been around Crab Island and Short Island, mainly at night.

CALOUNDRA: The luderick have been good off the boardwalk. Bream have also been about the blue hole at night and some reasonable flathead are starting to move in the passage.

TWEED: The offshore fishing has been reasonable out wide for snapper, cobia and pearl perch while the rock walls at the river mouth produced tailor, bream and luderick. A few have also been around Boyd's Bay.

MAROOCHY: A few tailor have been about the mouth. Snapper and pearlies have been offshore at Murphy's and the northern end of the banks. The rock walls at the harbour have seen plenty of bream and luderick taken.
