THE EkkA has begun for another year with thousands expected to roll through the gates for the show's opening day.

The ten-day extravaganza is one of the highlights of the Brisbane calender with people of all ages flocking to the RNA showgrounds.

This year's EkkA offers new rides, showbags, competitions and fashion parades, as well as all the usual fun of Sideshow Alley, the animal judging and the petting zoo.

There are also three action packed nights of non-stop music and entertainment with Nova Live & Loud, showcasing some great bands for the EkkA crowds.

Some of the EkkA action on today includes Peter’s Enchanted Park to keep the kids entertained from 12.50pm as the Cobra Cheerleaders flip, cheer, jump and roll in an acrobatic extravaganza.

The infamous EkkA sack races and ice cream eating competitions also return along with ABC for
kids’ special shows at the Sunny Queen Smile Zone Circus.

Another highlight of the EkkA will be the return of The Coffee club parades, showcasing 52 glamorous and cutting edge designs from local Queensland designers and retailers.

The Coffee Club will today also launch their New Faces supermodel search, giving two beautiful and
talented model newcomers a lucrative international career opportunity including 12 months representation with leading fashion agency Viviens Model Management.

In the afternoon, don't miss seeing football legend Shane Webcke as he enjoys a snag and a rissole at the Suncorp Marquee following the afternoon’s cattle judging.

Suncorp welcomes all EkkA goers to join in the BBQ celebration which is included in your EkkA
admission price.

Lucky winners will receive the opportunity to meet Shane in person and relax in Suncorp’s VIP
lounge.
