Noffke set to take on young Kiwi cricketers

EVEN though it's the middle of winter, the Coast's favourite Queensland Bull, Ashley Noffke, is about to return to the playing field.
The West Indies tourist was named yesterday in an 18-man Queensland squad for the Suncorp Challenge series against the New Zealand Emerging Players squad at Cazalys Stadium in Cairns from Sunday, July 27 to Monday, August 4.
Australian one-day all-rounders Shane Watson and James Hopes have been named in the squad but will not play in the games.
They will train with the squad next week and attend a sportsmen's dinner.
Noffke, who didn't get to bowl a ball in anger during the recent West Indies tour, will not be resting up like his Aussie teammates and will be joined in the Bulls attack by off-season recruit Ryan Harris who joined Queensland from South Australia earlier this year.
The Bulls will play a three-day match against New Zealand from Tuesday to Thursday next week, an evening Twenty20 game on Friday and a one-day game on Sunday, August 3.
