WHEN Peter and Betty Sheridan find something they like, they stick to it.

That’s why, during the last 15 years, this Toowoomba couple has rarely missed one of the nightly tutors’ concerts at McGregor Summer School.

“It’s just glorious chamber music – where else in the world could you get such quality entertainment for just $5?” Peter, who turned 80 on the weekend, said.

“We are so fortunate to have that right here in Toowoomba.”

Betty, who has kept all the concert programs since the couple started attending in 1994, said the repertoire each night was always enjoyable – “no weird stuff”.

She also admits that she and Peter have their favourite seats in the USQ Arts Theatre and feel as though they have come to know the performers over the years.

“The players are like old friends,” Betty said.

“We’ve never actually met them, but we feel as though we’ve known them forever.

“And the music is always nice; it appeals to everyone. I know that I will like whatever they play on the night even before I see the program.

“We don’t have any favourites. I played violin when I was younger, and my father played clarinet, but we like hearing it all.”

The McGregor Summer School tutors’ concerts are on each night at 7pm in the USQ Arts Theatre. Entry is $5 per person.
