ON television, chef Gordon Ramsay is hotter than an Indian curry, but off it he is as sweet as chocolate mousse, according to Michelle and Marc Hall.
The Toowoomba couple are self-confessed Gordon Ramsay fanatics and a recent meeting with the celebrity chef was a dream come true for the pair.
“It was absolutely fantastic. He is such a gentleman, nothing at all like what you see on his reality TV shows,” Mrs Hall said.
The Halls met and dined with Ramsay at a function celebrating Sanctuary Cove’s 21st birthday.
“We knew he was going to appear at Sanctuary Cove and all we really wanted was two minutes to meet him and get one of our books signed.
“Marc called to see if something could be arranged, but instead of a book signing we were invited to attend a VIP function.
“We met him at the function and enjoyed the food he prepared. It was absolutely delicious.
“We’re massive fans. We own all his books and DVDs. It was just the best experience,” Mrs Hall said.
The Halls were particularly impressed by Ramsay’s humble and attentive nature.
“He operated at his own pace. If he wanted to stay and chat with someone he did. He wasn’t worried about time schedules.
“He was very genuine and actually very quiet and humble when he spoke to people.
“I think people need to understand when they see him on TV he is operating a business in a stressful environment. It’s not necessarily an accurate portrayal of him.”
