Areas of heavy rain are continuing through the coast and ranges south of Brisbane and are expected to contract to the southern parts of the Gold Coast and the Granite Belt during Thursday.
A strong upper low is located over inland southern Queensland, moving east. A low is located over Moreton Bay and is near stationary.
Localised flash flooding is expected in the areas of heavier rain. The heaviest rain on Wednesday evening was located between Brisbane and the NSW border.

Residents of the Glasshouse Mountains area were hit hard by rain. The driver of this van escaped serious injury after driving through flood water on Old Gympie Road just north of Pikes Road, Beerwah.
