CREEPY chills and unexplained cold breezes have been freaking Ryan Turnbull out for as long as he can remember.

So in an attempt to combat the Criterion Hotel's resident ghost, he's enlisted one of the country's best ghost busters.

Charmaine Wilson, a psychic medium and winner of the hit television serious The One, will visit Rockhampton's oldest hotel during her tour to Rockhampton in February.

Mr Turnbull said he wanted to find out who the ghost was, her background and how she died.

He believes she was a chambermaid who died in the late 1800s.

“She's been annoying and scaring me,” he said yesterday.

“I get little cold breezes and chills up my spine.”

Mr Turnbull said he was able to obtain Ms Wilson's assistance through her boyfriend Patrick Payner, a former local musician who used to play regularly at the Criterion Hotel.

He said when he heard about Ms Wilson's upcoming tour, he asked if she would make a special visit.

Ms Wilson specialises in connecting with those who have passed on. She said she wasn't aware of her gift until 1999, after her father died.

It took a further three years to work out what the voices were and then learn how to work with them. Ms Wilson has also endured the loss of her brother and four-year-old daughter, both to tragic accidents, and more recently her mother.

She began working with clients in 2002 and in 2005 was awarded the Australian Psychic of the Year.

She'll be at Rockhampton's Pilbeam Theatre on Saturday, February 21 from 7.30pm.

To get your tickets, visit www.pilbeamtheatre.com.au or call 4927 4111. Tickets are $52.90.
