SHOWING diplomacy beyond her 17 years,

Alamela Rowan graciously accepted an apology from Australia's Next Top Model Demelza Reverly during the finale of the reality show on Tuesday night.

The South Golden Beach teen was bullied by Ms Reverly during her stay in the Next Top Model house during filming of the Fox 8 reality show.

Back home from her trip to Sydney, Alamela told The Northern Star how she felt about the 16-year-old bully winning the contest.

“I don't feel too good,” she said.

“I don't think Demelza was a very deserving winner and I thought other girls in the competition surpassed her with ability to model and looks.

“I think that out of the final two, Alex should have won and Sam was a definite contender.”

In one episode of the show, Alamela was singled out, verbally abused and had water poured over her head by three contestants, led by Demelza, who were dubbed by the judges as the 'bitchkateers'.

“I don't understand why they picked Demelza at all, and she certainly should not have been allowed to make it through to the finals,” Alamela said.

“More things happened in the house, but there's only so much you can fit into an hour of television. But what was shown portrayed things pretty accurately.

“I hope Demelza changes her ways because if she does change, I'm sure she can go a long way.”

Since leaving the show, Alamela has been overwhelmed by support from the public and fans.

She hasn't let the bad experiences of the show put her off and is still pursuing her dream of becoming a model.

“I don't regret doing the show, but I wouldn't do it again,” she said.

“And to next season's contestants, be careful what you wish for. Be sure you know who you are before you go on the show and be true to yourself.”
